These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and NewsFirst governing your access to and use of the NewsFirst website, mobile applications, newsletters and related services (together, the “Services”). Please read them carefully. By using the Services you accept these Terms.
01Who we are
NewsFirst is a digital news and current-affairs platform operated by NewsFirst Digital Network LLP (LLPIN: AAC-9075) (“NewsFirst”, “we”, “us” or “our”), with its registered office at 5th Floor, Tower No 9, Magnet Park, S G Highway, Ahmedabad 380054, Gujarat, India. For the purposes of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, NewsFirst is a publisher of news and current-affairs content and adheres to the Code of Ethics prescribed thereunder.
02Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing or using the Services, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, Corrections Policy and (where relevant) our Advertisers & Partners terms, each incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
03Eligibility
You must be capable of entering into a legally binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. If you are below 18 years of age, you may use the Services only under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms.
04Our content and intellectual property
All content on the Services, including articles, headlines, photographs, graphics, video, audio, data visualisations, the NewsFirst name, logo and design system, is owned by or licensed to NewsFirst and is protected under the Copyright Act, 1957, the Trade Marks Act, 1999 and other applicable laws.
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to access and read the content for your own non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, scrape, data-mine, frame, sell or create derivative works from any content without our prior written permission, save for fair-dealing uses permitted by law with due attribution.
05Acceptable use
When using the Services you agree not to host, display, upload, publish, transmit or share any information that is prohibited under Rule 3(1)(b) of the IT Rules, 2021 or other law, including material that:
- is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, invasive of another’s privacy, or harmful to children;
- is grossly offensive, deceptive or knowingly false, or promotes enmity between groups;
- infringes any patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary right;
- impersonates another person, or threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, public order, or friendly relations with foreign States;
- contains software viruses or any code designed to disrupt the Services.
You further agree not to attempt to gain unauthorised access to, interfere with, or disrupt the Services or their underlying infrastructure.
06User contributions
Where the Services allow you to submit news tips, comments, feedback or other material (“Contributions”), you remain responsible for them and confirm you have the right to submit them. You grant NewsFirst a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, edit, reproduce and publish your Contributions in connection with the Services. We may moderate, decline or remove Contributions at our discretion, and we are not obliged to publish any submission.
07Editorial standards and corrections
We follow recognised norms of journalistic conduct and the Code of Ethics under the IT Rules, 2021. If you believe any content is inaccurate, please tell us through our Corrections Policy, which also sets out our grievance-redressal mechanism.
08Third-party links and advertising
The Services may contain links to, and advertising from, third parties. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party websites, products or content. Advertising and sponsored content are additionally governed by our Advertisers & Partners terms and are clearly labelled as such.
09Disclaimers
The Services and their content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. News and current-affairs content is published for general information only and does not constitute professional, legal, financial, medical or investment advice; you should not rely on it as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.
10Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, NewsFirst and its officers, employees and contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services.
11Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless NewsFirst and its personnel from any claim, demand, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Services.
12Privacy
Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which reflects our obligations under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
13Suspension and termination
We may suspend or withdraw all or part of the Services, or restrict your access, at any time where we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or the law, or to protect the Services or other users.
14Grievance redressal
In accordance with Rule 11 of the IT Rules, 2021 and Section 13 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we have appointed a Grievance Officer to receive and resolve complaints regarding content and data.

We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and endeavour to resolve them within 15 days. Complaints relating to content under the Digital Media Ethics Code may be escalated to the applicable self-regulatory body and, thereafter, to the Oversight Mechanism of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.
15Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version takes effect when posted on this page, and the “Effective” date above will be updated. Your continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
16Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Subject to any statutory rights you may have, the courts at Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Services.
